We had found the perfect campsite for the night; This wasn’t it. I persuaded everyone to move camp to a clearing so I could get this photograph. We all slept on an incline which made our sleeping bags slip out of the pads. The day after this was made we got hit hard by high winds, rain and snow during a short climb in a nearby mountain. I had left my rain jacket at home so I could bring extra photo gear with me, this proved to be a huge mistake; by the time I got back to camp I was soaking wet and was already showing all of the early sings of hypothermia.
The next morning we woke up to a few inches of snow but clear skies. We were ready to get out of that place.
That’s the kinds of “war stories” I want to read and live!
